So the regatta finished up on Saturday. The sailing kind of sucked because of the light air, but they did manage to get all of the races in, so I guess that's something.
Tida Wave from Staniel Cay won overall in the A class division, but the boys from Long Island on Running Tide gave them a good run at the end. I don’t know much about sailboat racing, but I think Tida Wave got some blocking help in the final race from her sister ship Lady Muriel. Weak.
Anyway, the Royal Bahamian Police Marching Band closed out the festivities with a performance on the main street next to where the straw market burned down.
The whole troop didn’t come down from Nassau this year, but the show was still pretty good. I shot the above video with my phone and I was mildly surprised how good it turned out.
